In my welcome I mentioned that from time to time I will be publishing motivational articles. After 4 weeks of publishing interviews with Successful Entrepreneurs I’m motivated to make my first motivational post. So, beginning now, every fifth post will be a motivational post.
I want you to ask yourself four (4) questions:
How badly do you want success?
How far are you willing to go to achieve your goals?
Will you give up when you start facing challenges?
Are you willing to fight to the end?
There is no limit to what you can do unless you limit yourself. To achieve greatness you have to get up each day hungrier than you were yesterday. The hungrier you are the harder you will work and the harder you work the possibility of you achieving more and reaching your goals are higher. If one day you wake up and decide that okay you're making enough money now so you're successful (or your belly is full) then there is a problem. Success is not just about money it's about growth, it's about fulfilling your mission, your vision and your passion. Success needs maintenance, perseverance and consistency, you have to stay hungry and you have to stay focus. Take a minute and think about a fat person who never misses a meal or eats 7 meals a day, for that person it is the continuous crave for food (always hungry) and always eating, not missing any meals and sticking to the routine that is why they are fat. So they keep eating, in order to become successful or to be great you have to keep working. You shouldn't stop working when you're tired or when you hit a roadblock, you should stop when you achieve the goals you set out to achieve. It is only then you can reap the real rewards.
Every successful person have had to make sacrifices to get where they are, whether it's sleepless nights, having to sell their car, having to work 3 jobs or even go days without food, those are sacrifices that some people have had to make. To become successful, at some point you will have to make sacrifices. Bill Gates made sacrifices, Steve Jobs made sacrifices, Mark Zuckerberg made sacrifices and in the end they all paid off. Why? Because they stayed hungry, they never gave up, they kept their eyes on the prize, they stayed focus. You can't ask Steve Jobs but if you ask Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg they will tell you that there were roadblocks and times when they felt like giving up, but the rewards is at the end not in the middle and they understood that. When I interviewed Marsha Guiness (check out week 3) she said “I am always willing to try new strategies. Test them drop the ones that are ineffective and build on those that bear fruits.” What that is saying is that you should be willing to take risks and have more than one plans. If plan A doesn't work, you shouldn't keep your focus on trying to make it work, instead use different methods and try to achieve the same or better results. That is why it is also important that you have a backup plan or plans, that is one way of using different method to get the same results. If you are hungry and you stay hungry, focused and committed to achieving what you set out to achieve then you won't give up until you get there.
Sometimes you will have questions that only you can answer, but you don't know how to answer it. Sometimes you will have to make tough decisions but you don't know how to make them, but you should keep in mind that everything is figureoutable, yes I said figureoutable. There is always a solution to a problem even when the solution is starting over. Sometimes your plans will fail and you will feel like a failure, and when that happens you should think positive, think of failure as the opportunity to begin again. Failure doesn't mean you should give up and walk away failure means you should rethink your strategies, restructure your plans and begin again. When you begin again you have the opportunity to be better than you were before, get farther than you were before and the opportunity to achieve more.
Always remember if it is to be it is up to you! Only you can do it. Stay focus, stay hungry, stay committed and remember the real rewards are at the end not in the middle. So, I will leave you with a quote from Kobe Bryant "rest at the end, not in the middle"
